since wades Outrage thread got a bunch of us talking i figured id put up our actual numbers on the Robalo after a full year. 2021 Robalo R247, single Yamaha F300, 145 hours when we bought it, one owner, on a tandem aluminum trailer. found it on rubiautosales.com last fall after months of watching the corpus and rockport dealers and getting tired of boats that had sat in a wet slip all summer with no bottom paint.
asked rubi for the service history and they had the Yamaha dealer receipts from the first owner, the 100 hour service was done and logged. paid a surveyor to go through it and ride the sea trial before we bought, and the only thing he found they had not already told us was a trailer bearing running warm on the tow to the ramp. the corroded battery switch and the cracked bimini fitting they had already told us about on the phone.
we have fished it about every other weekend since. here is what it actually cost to own a 2021 R247 for a year, for anyone trying to budget a mid size center console.

that is the honest year. nothing broke that was not a wear item or something we already knew about, and the price against the corpus dealer, 79 versus 92 for a boat with more hours, makes buying off the rubi lot an easy call looking back. that spread paid for the fuel and the insurance for the whole year and then some.
